The service for Driscoll Tree Service was outstanding. Michael came out to meet with me, explained the pros and cons of how to deal with my tree removal, and provided a clear quote for the service. The crew that came out to do the work was on-time, professional and did a great job. One of the trees they had to remove was tall and in a spot where they couldn't get any heavy equipment to it, but they were able to take it down in pieces without damaging my landscaping or fence. If you are looking for a professional and competent tree service,  I definitely recommend calling Driscoll Tree Service.

Efficient, Affordable, and Professional what more can you ask for in a company. I had a big tree in my yard that needed to be cut down. From the estimate from Michael and the actual job being performed by his crew, everything was satisfactory. Including the clean-up. They’re also licensed and insured so that made selecting for the job even more comfortable. I highly recommend Driscoll Tree Service for your tree removal.

4 Ways to Fill the Empty Space Where a Tree Was

When a tree is removed from your yard, it can leave a space that can be challenging to fill. Fortunately, various creative and functional ways exist to fill that space and make it a valuable part of your outdoor living area. Whether you scheduled tree removal for diseases, safety concerns, or other reasons, Driscoll Tree Service arborists recommend these four ideas for transforming the void into a beautiful and functional addition to your landscape.

Plant New Trees

One of the most natural ways to fill the void following a tree removal project is by replanting. Trees provide shade and aesthetic appeal and offer many environmental benefits, such as air purification, carbon dioxide absorption, and habitat for wildlife. Before selecting new trees, consult a tree care company to consider critical factors like climate, soil type, and space available. Different trees thrive in different conditions, so it’s essential to consult a tree service expert to choose species well-suited to your area. If the tree you removed had specific problems, our arborists can provide expert guidance on selecting the correct replacement tree.

Create a Garden

Another excellent way to fill the space left by a removed tree is by creating a garden. A garden can be a colorful addition to your landscape, offering various plants, flowers, and landscaping features. As a homeowner, you can plant various flowers to create a vibrant and fragrant garden. Perennials, annuals, and bulbs can provide different colors and blooms throughout the seasons. In addition, you can dedicate your garden to attract butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Choose plants like milkweed, coneflowers, and lavender to create a welcoming habitat for these essential creatures. If you prefer more guidance and expertise, work with a trusted tree care company to kick start your garden correctly.

Install a Water Feature

Water features can add tranquility and visual interest to your outdoor space while filling the void a removed tree leaves. The sound of running water can create a peaceful ambiance and mask noise from nearby streets or neighbors. A fountain can be a beautiful focal point in your yard. Choose from a wide range of styles, from classical to modern, to suit your aesthetic preferences. If you have more space to work with, consider installing a pond. Ponds can support aquatic plants and fish, creating a thriving ecosystem within your landscape.

Make a Sitting Area

Transforming the space into a sitting area can become a functional and inviting part of your outdoor living area. Construct a patio or deck using materials like pavers, wood, or composite decking to create a comfortable and relaxing space. Add outdoor furniture such as tables, chairs, and loungers for a comfortable gathering.

You can install a pergola or gazebo to provide shade and architectural interest. These structures can also support climbing plants like vines and roses. Whichever solution you choose to fill the space, consult a professional.

Tree removal doesn’t have to leave a void in your outdoor space. Each option offers unique benefits, allowing you to tailor your choice to your preferences and needs. Contact us today at Driscoll Tree Service and schedule a consultation with our tree service experts to transform the space into a beautiful and functional living area.
