I had a large oak tree taken down near power lines and an outdoor kitchen. I was well informed about the work they were going to do and how long it should take. The team was professional, fast and dropped the tree safely. They used a bucket truck and climber to trim branches from the top half of the tree with no damage to the yard around the tree.  I am extremely pleased with Driscoll Tree service work.

The service for Driscoll Tree Service was outstanding. Michael came out to meet with me, explained the pros and cons of how to deal with my tree removal, and provided a clear quote for the service. The crew that came out to do the work was on-time, professional and did a great job. One of the trees they had to remove was tall and in a spot where they couldn't get any heavy equipment to it, but they were able to take it down in pieces without damaging my landscaping or fence. If you are looking for a professional and competent tree service,  I definitely recommend calling Driscoll Tree Service.

Best Time of Year for Tree Removal

We love trees as much as anyone. After all, they give us oxygen, shade, beauty, and some even produce fruit… but we also understand that some trees become more of a problem than a benefit. When that happens, waiting too long can cost you big time.

At Driscoll Tree Service, we offer general tree service and also help homeowners spot trouble early and avoid expensive emergencies. Our expert team is ready to inspect your trees, implement tree care solutions, and/or guide you through safe and planned tree removal when needed. If you act early, you stay in control.

With that said, let’s walk through the warning signs and the best time to act when dealing with trees that are beyond saving.

Why Waiting Is Risky

It’s easy to ignore a problem tree, especially if it still has leaves and hasn’t fallen yet, but trees don’t fix themselves once they start to fail. At some point, they turn into a ticking time bomb.

If a tree is dead or near it, then postponing a tree removal can mean storm damage, broken roofs or fences, crushed cars, and worse.

A planned removal is always safer and cheaper than emergency work, and Driscoll Tree Service is here to help you act before things go wrong.

Signs of a Tree at Its End

If you suspect your tree is dead or close to it, then it is always advisable to have a tree company in Monroe, GA come out and investigate. If you’re not sure, then consider these telltale warning signs:

  • Dead Branches: A few small dead twigs are normal, but big dead branches are a red flag. These limbs are dry and weak, and they can fall at any time. If they hang over your home or driveway, the risk is even greater.
  • Trunk Cracks: Deep cracks in the trunk are serious signs that the tree is splitting or losing strength. If the crack is large or getting worse, the tree may need to be removed ASAP.
  • Leaning Tree: Trees should grow straight. If a tree suddenly starts leaning, that’s a warning sign. Watch out for exposed roots, soil lifting on one side, and/or a lean that gets worse over the days and weeks.
  • Mushroom at Base: Mushrooms growing near the trunk may look harmless, but they often mean rot inside the tree. The tree may look fine outside but be hollow inside.
  • No Leaves: If your tree doesn’t grow leaves in spring or summer, it may be dead. Dying trees may also have thin or patchy leaves.
  • Damaged Roots: Roots keep a tree stable. If they are damaged, the whole tree is at risk. Signs include cracked soil, visible root damage, and poor drainage around the base.

Contact Driscoll Tree Service if you’re noticing any of these red flags. We can have a tree service professional dispatched to your home or business as soon as necessary.

Best Time of Year for a Tree Removal

secondary

You can remove a tree at any time if it’s dangerous, because safety always comes first. For planned jobs, however, some seasons are better:

  • Late Fall and Winter: This is often the best time as trees are dormant and there are fewer leaves to deal with. Plus, it’s easier to see the structure and the ground is usually firmer.
  • Early Spring: This can also work well before new growth begins.

Basically, we make it a point to avoid growing season. Summer removals are possible, but trees are typically full and heavy. This can make the job more complex.

Plan Ahead, Stay Safe

The best way to protect your home is to act early. Don’t wait until the tree is already falling. Contact a local tree company like Driscoll Tree Service as soon as you notice the writing on the wall.

The Driscoll team is here to help. We provide expert inspections, honest advice, and safe and efficient tree removal when needed. Call or message us today to get in touch with our office team.
