It took a while for the weather to cooperate, but when the time came, all went well with excellent results. The crew removed a large water oak and a small trash tree. They worked well together and when finished, the job site was cleaned up nicely. They were friendly and informative. Neighbors were also impressed. I highly recommend Driscoll Tree Service.

We called to have two large pine trees removed since they were in the way of where we needed to put our fence. We are slackers and always wait until the last minute to do anything so of course, we tried to find someone that could take these out quickly as we needed it done ASAP. These guys came out the same day I called and were able to get them out the next day. I was so impressed by how nice and professional they are, it’s nearly impossible to get anyone to come out and/or follow up with anything so it was extremely refreshing that they did both without me having to call and ask what the hold up was. I will forever use this company for future needs. Thank you again!!

How Tree Roots Damaging Your Pipes

Trees are attractive elements in your garden that provide shade and enhance the beauty of your space. However, the giant trees can cause problems to your property’s foundation and plumbing system. These roots are attracted to water and will grow toward the pipes. The roots will break the pipe joints, cause cracks, and lead to other invasive damage. At Driscoll Tree Service, we offer professional tree service to ensure the roots do not cause any damage to the plumbing.

As a leading tree care company, we advise you on the best way to keep the trees’ roots from infiltrating the water and drainpipes. You can also consider placing metal or wooden barriers on the pipes to prevent the roots from penetrating. Some of the four first signs that show that your roots have damaged the plumbing include:

  • Slow Draining Pipes

secondary

Leaks and cracks on the pipes create humidity, which attracts the roots of a tree. Over time, the roots will enter the line and continue growing until the pipe is blocked. If the problem is not resolved as soon as possible, the sewer system stops working well, leading to slow-draining pipes. When you flush the toilet and the drainage process is slow, it can show roots in the pipes.

  • Gurgling Toilet

When water tries to pass through an obstacle, it will produce that gurgling sound. Roots are notorious for causing that block on your pipe system. You can hear that gurgling sound after flushing your toilet. Our tree care company in Stone Mountain will help identify the nature of the root system and the problems it is causing for your plumbing system.

  • Sewage Odors and Sewage Backup

Sewage odors in your garden can occur because of a broken sewer line releasing raw waste products into your garden. The broken pipes occur when trees infiltrate the pipes and cause weaknesses. You can call us to check how the roots affect the drainage system and offer an effective solution.

If the roots obstruct the pipes, it can cause sewage backup. The first signs of sewage backup are odors from the drain, bubbling on toilets, slow draining in the different fixtures, clogs at multiple drains, or sewage in the cleanout pipe.

  • Sinkholes or Soppy Grounds

The roots cause cracks in the sewage pipes that will cause clean water or wastewater to flow into the ground. The ground will become soppy and, if not fixed, will eventually develop into sinkholes. If you live in a home with a foundation, you should know the dangers of the sinkholes. Progressive cracks on the windows and doors show a sinkhole is forming on your property.

Roots can cause problems in your plumbing system, such as sewage backup, odors, gurgling toilets, sinkholes, and slow-draining pipes. At Driscoll Tree Service, we offer world-class tree service to ensure the roots don’t interfere with the integrity of your plumbing system. Our arborists are experts in providing your trees thrive and don’t cause damage to your home.
